Donald J. Reynolds

Donald J. Reynolds, 84 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Mr. Reynolds was born on May 12, 1927 to the late Alfred, & Wilhelmina Reynolds. He was a member of the Locust Grove Methodist Church in Salem, and will also be remembered for his 40 plus years in the meat packing industry. Prior to this, Mr. Reynolds proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and spent a year serving in Guam. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Blaine Douglas Reynolds, and his sister Virginia Mathiesen. He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Arla Reynolds; daughters, Dawn Armour, & husband William, and Ardeen Porter, & husband Rick; brother , Dean Reynolds; sister, Loye Mattie; daughter-in-law, Susan Reynolds; seven grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Locust Grove United Methodist Church, Salem, with Pastor Ben Lockhart officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to either the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association, or to the Locust Grove Methodist Church in Salem.
