Donald D. Beckner, 63, of Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2020. He was born on Friday, May 17, 1957, to Ida King Beckner Bolt and the late Houston Beckner. Donald loved music and especially loved playing his guitar. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and watching NASCAR racing. His greatest joy was being with his family and friends. In addition to his father, he was greeted in heaven by his great-granddaughter, Hazel Grace Smith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rebecca Beckner; daughter, Katrina Beckner Walker, and husband, Aaron; grandchildren, Austin Smith and wife, Autumn, Adam Smith, Macy Walker, Wyatt Walker; great-granddaughter, Addlyn Smith; sisters, Wanda Hale and husband, Tommy, and Marsha Beckner; brother, Kenneth Beckner and wife, Mary; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brent Stroff and Adam Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Restvale Cemetery in Copper Hill, VA, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020, at the funeral home.
