Dianne M. Hankins, 69, of Roanoke County Va., went to her Lord on Monday, December 29, 2025.

Dianne loved her family deeply and was very proud of her sons. Her love for children and young adults was demonstrated through her time as a Band Mom, her work in the Career Center at Glenvar High School, and her service in the church nursery. For many years, Dianne knitted a hat and blanket for the infants born in her church, reflecting a lifelong love for all forms of crafts, including painting, crocheting, and knitting. She was renowned for her baking, and many will fondly remember her strawberry bread, sausage balls, and chocolate chip cookies. She liked hanging with the guys and received much joy in banter on all matters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 48 years, Ed; sons, Adam Hankins and his partner Sarah Kincaid and Will Hankins and his partner Kristi Lilly; parents, Alton and Eloise Martin of Stoneville, N.C.; sister, Sharon and Rick Mason of Birmingham, Ala.; niece, Elizabeth Baxter of Dallas, Texas; her church family at Salem Baptist Church, and many friends at Roanoke County Public Schools and throughout the community.

Per her request, there will be no services.

Her last desire would be for those left behind to find joy in a relationship with Jesus Christ and to love and care for each other.
