Dennis Orlando Putnam

Dennis Orlando Putnam, 66, of Salem, VA passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was born January 31, 1944 in Sparta, NC son of Lula Bogus Stokes and the late Lonnie Stokes. Mr. Putnam was a retired carpenter, a US Navy Veteran and attended Mason Cove Chapel. He is survived by his loving wife, Nona Huffman Putnam; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Wes Luper and Angelia and Jeff Schaeffer; four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cody, Savana, and Brayden; sister, Deborahann Stokes; and a brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Dorine Stokes. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Pastor Arley F. Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, June 29, 2010.
