Dennis Martin Hannah

Dennis Martin Hannah, 77 of Salem passed away November 23, 2011. He was born January 9, 1934 in Botetourt County. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Henry Hannah and Kathleen Hazel (Tucker) King, brothers Kenneth Hannah and Lewis (Bee) Hannah. He is survived by his wife of 54 years and best friend, Janice Blankenship Hannah; daughters Darlene Adams (David) and Becky Martin (Brian); grandchildren Stacey Crowder (CJ), Rachel Ward, Whitney Dudding, and Bradley Martin; sister-in-laws Genevieve Hannah, Gayle Hannah, and Rita Springer; brother-in-law Kenneth Blankenship (Pauline); and a special friend and cow buddy Greg Duffy & family. He retired from General Electric after 33 years of service. He enjoyed farming & gardening and tending to his farm animals. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for all their support and services during this difficult time. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Roger Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Mountain Pass Baptist Church, 2975 Catawba Valley Drive, Salem, VA 24153.
