Dennis E. Gray

Dennis “Bubba” Gray, 67, of Elliston, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Born Friday, January 31, 1958, to the late Walter I. and Kathleen Dudding Gray in Roanoke, Va.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Gregory I. Gray and William D. Gray; and his best buddy, Mellow yellow.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife and best friend of 33 years, Lisa Parrish-Gray; son, Jared E. Gray and Jessica Doss; sister, Patricia L. Gray; grandchildren, Michael Doss and James Gray; nephews, J.D. Gray, Will Gray, and Josh Gray; sister-in-law, Sandra V. Gray; as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Dennis, you would remember the joy and laughter he brought into every moment. He embraced a variety of vital roles that defined his life: a devoted husband to his cherished Lisa, a loving father who encouraged and supported his children, a caring brother who was always there for his siblings, a fun-loving uncle who filled family gatherings with laughter, and a steadfast friend who offered kindness and loyalty to all. The void left by Dennis will be profoundly felt by everyone whose lives he touched.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dennis’s amazing mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bobby and Jeanne Parrish, and to Rusty Parrish, for their unwavering support and love.

The family invites friends to a period of visitation at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The service will begin at 2:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Michael Varner.
