Delphia C. Bradshaw

Delphia C. Bradshaw, 88 of Salem, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012. Ms. Bradshaw will be remembered as an avid gardener and one who appreciated the fruits of hard work. She extended this ethic to her dedication to her years of employment, as she was faithful to 40 plus years of service to the textile industry and 12 years to Kroger foods. She was known for her love for others and as someone who always kept a smile on her face. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She will be remembered mostly as a loving wife of 22 faithful years to her belated husband Emmett; a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, as she had never met a stranger. She is survived by her son, E.G. Bradshaw, and wife Tammy, foster children, James Bayne, and wife Jannette, Gene Bayne, and wife Amanda, Betty Hedge and husband Roy, and Elaine Gregory, and husband Charlie; brother, Leonard Bootsie Crawford; sisters, Norma Dennis, Jane Lovern, and Geraldine Nunley. Four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Becky Schrader also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, with Pastor James T. Bayne officiating.
