David Scott King, 44, of Salem, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. He was born in Salem, the son of Junior King and Belinda Pendleton, and had been an area resident all of his life. David was a positive, upbeat and kind soul who enjoyed playing jokes on his friends, going to the river, working on his jeeps and motorcycles, listening to music and dancing with his wife, and spending time with his family. He was employed at Wholesome Harvest Bakery. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Nikki Olinger King; two daughters, Sierra King and Laci Hamblin; three sons, Tyler Hamblin, Skeet Collins and D.J. King; granddaughters, Jayden and Olivia, and a sister, Tina Carroll and her husband Rev. Ted Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The Rev. Ted Carroll will officiate. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 2PM Sunday at the funeral home.
