Danny Cordell White

Danny (Petie) Cordell White, 57, passed from this life on Thursday February 13, 2014. Petie was born and lived most of his life in Salem, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents Woodrow E. and Evelyn L. White and grandparents Nathan and Virgie McCray. Petie had a heart of gold and was loving,caring, and kind to everyone he met. He faced a lot of challenges in his life but he always had a way of putting a smile on your face with his funny personality. He loved playing the guitar, NASCAR, and spending time with his boxer Woody. He will be sadly missed. Left behind to cherish his memories are his son Travis Cordell White, three grandchildren Cierra, Kenny, and Isaac, two sisters Sandy Wood, and Shelley Cranford, one brother Barry White and wife Gloria, special friend Layla Wydorski, two special nephews Troy Arthur, and Corey White, along with a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday February 21, 2014 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. 540-389-5441. A funeral service to honor the life of Danny (Petie) Cordell White will take place on Saturday February 22, 2014 at 11am in the chapel of the funeral home with Justin Imel officiating, interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke.
