Daniel Patrick Maloney

Daniel Patrick Maloney, 61, of Salem, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 25, 2025. Born September 29, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Timothy Francis and Joan Ann Maloney, he is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Timothy Aloysius and Marguerite Maloney, affectionately known as "Pops" and Gram", as well as his son, Daniel Patrick Maloney; niece, Meghan Ann Maloney and favorite brother-in-law, Andrew Kiewra.

Danny was of the Catholic faith and loved the traditional Latin Mass. He had a contagious laugh, a quick wit, and a great sense of humor. A jokester by nature, Danny was always ready to engage in good-natured pranks.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kate Maloney; sons, Sean Maloney, Brendan Maloney, Patrick Maloney and Terrance Maloney; siblings, Timothy Maloney, James Maloney and wife, Donna, Katherine Kiewra, and Hugh Maloney and wife, April; aunt and Godmother, Jeanne Gorman, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the Upper Parlor of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, located at 314 Turner Road, Salem, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Father Andrews Mensah and Deacon James Maloney officiating. Interment immediately following in St. Andrew Diocesan Cemetery, Roanoke.
