Dallas Lee Gordon, 68, of Salem, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patty Cannaday Gordon; his parents, Ed and Ruth Gordon of Salem; three sons, Randy Gordon and his wife Laurie of Roanoke; Kevin Gordon and his companion Julie Ashman of Salem; Derek Gordon and his wife Sheila of Mechanicsville; two brothers, Rick Gordon and his friend Maggie of Salem; Les Carpenito and his wife Suzanne of Salem, and seven grandchildren, Zack Gordon, Hunter Gordon, Maria Gordon, Josh Simmons, Jessica Simmons, Christian Adkins and D.J. Ashman,
Lee was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam conflict and retired from the V.A. Medical Center as a pipefitter in 2002 following many years of service. He was the former owner and operator of Roanoke Valley Pools and was a member of West Salem Baptist Church. Following his retirement he moved from Salem to Goodview, enjoying time with his family at Smith Mountain Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, March 24, 2011 in the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. His son, Rev. Derek Gordon and his cousin, Rev. Brian Gordon will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where Military Honors will be afforded by member of the Virginia Army National Guard Military Honors Funeral Team.
