Cora G. Perry

Cora G. Perry, 92, of Salem, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. She was born in Piav, Miss. the daughter of the late David and Geneva Brewer and had also resided in Pennsylvania prior to locating to the Salem area in 2014. Cora enjoyed life to the fullest. Gazing at a flower or watching clouds, she was awed by Gods wonderful creations. She enjoyed painting, cooking for her family and was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvel R. Perry; a grandson, David M. Perry; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Miller; a brother, Albert C. Brewer, and a sister, A. Irene Davis. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Moore and her husband Rod, with whom she made her home; a son, Ron Perry and his wife Judy; grandchildren, Troy, Kim, Shanna, Jaime, Kristy, Lindi and Brennen, and great-grandchildren, Holland, Madison, John Thomas, Grant and Avalee. Also surviving are many extended family members, including nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. Rev. Roy Kanode will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
