Connie Lynn Richards

On Monday, July 15, 2024, Ms. Connie Lynn Richards was reunited with her heavenly family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ammon Richards; mother, Christine Richards; brother, Gary Richards; and son, Brandon Johnson.
Known for her kind nature, infectious laughter, and her constant and undeniable love for her friends and family, she rarely met a stranger. Always the first to offer a helping hand or a big hug to anyone in need, she would always know exactly what to do to put a smile on your face and make the day just a little brighter.
Her love for music was never lost throughout her life. From large arenas to small local eateries, you would always find her in the middle of the crowd dancing and singing. Connie was the one person who would light up a room with her beautiful smile and a comforting embrace to all who greeted her. She was truly a special woman, and her love for all will carry on through the hearts of everyone she touched with her kindness.
Connie would like to thank her family, friends, and all who accepted her into their lives throughout her short-lived years and wants us all to know she will always love each of us.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be set up through the Salem High School Music Program to help young students carry on their education and musical careers.
Please join others for a period of visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va.
