Colleen P. Strouth Wright

Colleen P. Strouth Wright, 68, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2011. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, owned her own business as a ceramicist, and enjoyed traveling and camping. Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Elsie Strouth; father-in-law, Thomas L. Wright; son, Thomas James Wright; and grandson, Michael Harris. Her surviving family includes her husband of 50 years, Thomas (Tony) Wright; mother-in-law, Frances Wright; daughters, Cynthia Harris and husband, Robert, and Christina Ford and husband, John; grandchildren, David Harris, Katie Harris, Justin Ford, and Renee Ford; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Meadow, and Ryder Harris; brother-in-law, James (Shorty) R. Wright and wife, Elsie; sister-in-law, Rovonda Andrews and husband, Steve; and several nephews. Periods of visitation will be held on both Sunday and Monday, February 13 and 14, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. The Rev. Rick Elmore will officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Colleens name may be sent to the American Cancer Society at 2840 Electric Road Suite 106 in Roanoke, VA 24018.
