Clarence C.W. Powell, Jr., 81, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
He was born in Roanoke, a son of the late Clarence W. Powell, Sr. and Pearl Elizabeth Powell. He was a US Navy veteran who served his country aboard the USS Albany during the Korean War and was employed by Russell Trucking for many years prior to retiring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank H. Powell, and a sister-in-law, Hazel Powell.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Powell, and Amy Trottier and her husband Patrick; a grandson, Zachary Watts; two granddaughters, Willow and Shakira Trottier; two sisters, Doris Delano and her husband Ray, and Catherine Delano and her husband Bob; two nieces, Diane Pullen and Donna Shell, and two nephews, Bob Delano, Jr. and Tim Delano.
A memorial service will be held at 5PM, Monday, November 17, 2014 at the First Evangelical Methodist Church, 1920 Lucas St. Salem, VA with Pastor Brian Gordon officiating. An online guest book is available for family and friends by visiting www.johnmoakey.com.Service Information
