Christine Lewis Tinsley Conner

Christine Lewis Tinsley Conner, 87, of Roanoke, VA and formerly of Shawsville, VA passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012. She was born October 2, 1924 in Williamson, WV daughter of the late John Terrell and Ora White Tinsley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Andrew Conner; brother, John Terrell Tinsley, Jr.; sisters Claudine Roberts, Ernestine Tinsley and Thelma Reese. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Dixie Caverns. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Elmer A. and Roberta Conner and John Edward Eddie Conner; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth E. and Roger Crockett and Nancy C. Linkous-Bandy and Mike Bandy; four grandchildren, Susan Bell and husband, Doug, David Linkous and wife, Christy, Dallas Ray Richards and wife, Mary and Andrew Conner; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Donahue; nieces, Joan Morgan, Joyce Roberts, Barbara Majors, Darlene Sloan and Annette Donahue; and two nephews, Donnie Tinsley and Jimmy Tinsley. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Gospel Baptist Church in Dixie Caverns with Rev. Sam Huntley officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville.
