Charles Edward Wade

Charles E. Wade, 67, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. He was born in Roanoke, a son of the late William T. and Helen Kingery Wade and had been an area resident all his life. He attended New Covenant Assembly of God, where he enjoyed sharing his ministry thru song. Chuck mostly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his one-year old great-great nephew Gannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mamie Wade Greene. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vanessa Campbell Wade; two brothers, William T. Wade, Jr. and Roger L. Wade and his wife Lilly; his mother-in-law, Betty F. Campbell; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Witt and Deborah Nunley, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The Revs. Jessie Bass and Lenny MacDonald will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
