Charles Robert Richardson

Charles Robert Richardson, 76, of Roanoke and formerly of Wolf Creek, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014. He was employed by Watergate Improvement Corporation as well as the Internal Revenue Service as an engineer. Robert loved bluegrass music and NASCAR racing. He was also a huge football fan with Peyton Manning being his star player. Preceding him in death were his parents, Emery and Allene Richardson; two brothers, Lewis and Russell Richardson; and three sisters, Doris Mullins, Faye Washer, and LouMae Whitfield. His surviving family includes his wife of 54 years, Roxie Holt Richardson; children, Theresa Gale Richardson, Charles Emery Richardson, Marlene Jones and husband, Randy, and Robert Lee Richardson and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Roxie G. Giannotta, Jean M. Burch, Ray L. Wilder, Nichole Richardson, Ronica Richardson, Barbie A. Painter, Hattie L. Knight, and Chad L. Richardson; great-grandchildren, Faith Burch, Klyenn Burch, Riese Wilder, Emersyn Wilder, Avery Wilder, Oakley Wilder, Mackenzie Painter, Makayla Painter, Ryleigh Knight, and John Knight VI; brother, Clinton Richardson and wife, Shirley; sister, Bonnie Utt and husband, Butch; and many other special family members and friends. The family will receive friends during a period of visitation on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will then be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel with the Rev. Brian Gordon officiating.
