Charles (Barry) Meredith, 61, of Salem, would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call on Friday, January 22, 2016, an offer he could not refuse, for which he will not return. It comes with a huge bonus, a reunion with family and friends whom he has not seen in a long time. Preceding him in death were his parents, William D. and Ethel (Marie) Altice; daughter, Charmaine Hope Meredith; and sister, Sue Turner. His surviving family includes his children, Charles Barry Meredith II, Douglas Keith Meredith and wife, Susan, and Scott Bradley Meredith; siblings, James (Richard) Meredith and Wanda (Janie) Dillon and husband, Glen; grandchildren, Zachery Bryce, Kamdyn Hope, and Charles Liam Supan Meredith, Colin and Aubrey Hindrix, and Thomas and Erica Letchford; life partner, Marty Painter; 9 nephews; and 4 nieces. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
