Cecilia Erna Slough

Cecilia (Ceal) Slough, 92, of Roanoke, Va., was raised to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 15, 2024, joining her beloved husband, George; son, Karl; and brother, Claude. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ceal will be held in the hearts of her family and friends. Ceal is survived by her children, Geralynn, Nancy (Phil), and Kenneth (Laura); and sister-in-law, Patricia Gaskin. She is blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren, Megan (Louis), Eric, Kyle (Madeleine), Courtney (Bryant), Krista (Randall), Sarah (Tracy), and Anna (Jacob); as well as six great-grandchildren, Luke, Jordy, Andrew, Wyatt, Genevieve, and Ellie. Ceal's active involvement in numerous committees and boards, such as Roanoke Catholic Schools, Our Lady of the Valley, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Basilica of St. Andrew, left a lasting impact on these organizations. Ceal's love of organizing and celebrating were always at the heart of family and friend gatherings. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Basilica of St. Andrews Chapel, 631 North Jefferson Street, Roanoke. The funeral mass will begin promptly at 12 Noon. Ceal will be interred following the funeral mass at St. Andrews Diocesan Cemetery, 3601 Salem Turnpike N.W., Roanoke, Va.
