CDR James Thomas Clemons, USN (Ret), age 75, of Orange Park, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Born on March 10, 1938 to parents, Harold Eugene Clemons and Orlie May Boone Clemons in Roanoke, VA, he was a graduate of Virginia Tech and served in the United States Navy for over 20 years, retiring as a Commander. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Park and enjoyed woodworking and supporting several charitable organizations. CDR Clemons was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by the love of his life, Dianne Clemons, to whom he was married 34 years. Survivors include two daughters, Kim Thomson and Allyson King; a brother, Sam Clemons; and grandchildren, Bradley, Kyle, Hannah, and Trey Thomson and Tyler, Heidi, and Tanner King.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem with Pastor Jimmy Edwards officiating.
