Carolyn Virginia White, 90, of Salem, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was born on August 10, 1922 in Mount Hope, Kansas to the late Luther and Irma Fisher Kissick. Carolyn proudly served her country in the Army. She enjoyed a lifetime of travel and was an avid reader. She will be remembered as a kind hearted and wonderful loving mother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Retired (Army) Lawrence Joseph White; a brother, Calvin Kissick; and sister, Ruth Adele Lanning. Family left to cherish her memory include her son, Bob White and his wife Peggi; daughters, Cathy Lambert and her husband Richard and Jeannie White-Gaynor and her husband Richard; brother, Colonel Retired (Air Force) Luther Kissick and his wife Phyllis; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great grandson on the way. A memorial service to celebrate Carolyns life will be held in Mount Hope, Kansas at a later date.
