Carol Martin Hawk

Carol Martin Hawk, 85, passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2022. Born in Elliston, Virginia on March 31, 1937, she lived in Greenfield, Indiana before moving to Knoxville, Tennessee to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Carol was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Lee (Burris) Martin. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lon Hawk; stepmother, Thelma Martin; brother, Jackie Martin, and infant brother, Allan Ray Martin. Carol retired from Eli Lilly with over 27 years of service as a laboratory technician. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her flowers and gardening. Everyone appreciated her great country cooking. Over the years, she had many pets which she spoiled like her children. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Rodney Kingrea (Lisa); daughter, Sonia Kingrea; brothers, Donnie and Bobby Martin and grandchildren, Justin, Madison, and Cara Kingrea. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Virginia. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.johnmoakey.com.
