Carl Douglas Heslep

Carl Douglas Heslep, 69, of Salem, VA passed away Monday, March 07, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donald and David, and step-granddaughter, Elicia Rodrequez. Mr. Heslep retired from Roanoke County Schools and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran receiving both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He is survived by his fiance Tina Ashwell; daughter, Rena Gail Heslep; step-daughter, Brandi Ashwell; brothers, Kelly E. Heslep and wife, Peggy and Lloyd M. Heslep; an aunt, Elizabeth Robertson; one grandchild; three step-grandchildren, DWayne Ashwell,Yasmiyah Ashwell, and Mandi Thandavarayan; number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Celeste Fallen.
