Carl Edward Barkhouse

Carl Edward Barkhouse, Jr., 77, of Hollins, Virginia, but originally from Randolph, Massachusetts, passed away in the morning of Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He was born September 16, 1948, to the late Carl Edward Barkhouse, Sr. and Dorothy Trulson Barkhouse.

Carl was a proud veteran of the United States Army, actively serving during the Vietnam War and achieving the rank of Sargeant. He was also a purple heart recipient. Carl was passionate about what he believed in both socially and in the political arena and advocated for those who didn't have a voice. He worked for Advanced Auto for 20 years, delivering auto parts and built many friendships and professional relationships along the way. Carl was also a longtime member of College Lutheran Church. Above all, Carl was a beloved husband and father who adored his family.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 33 years, Belinda Barkhouse; children, Dawn Barkhouse Hall, Chad Eric Barkhouse (and mother) and Sonya Underwood; grandchildren, Heather Frost, Cody Underwood and Casey Underwood; great-granddaughter, Lyla Frost; sister, Dorothy Crasco and husband, Jack and their family; brother, William Barkhouse and family; mother in law, Karen Spaulding; sisters in law, Gina, Melissa , Shawn, Cathrena and Brandi; many nieces and nephews; many extended family and friends; as well as special pets, Gergy, Sugar, Jack, Kitty, Simba, Ana, Samantha, Cheyenne and Luna.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
