Brian John Duffy—lovingly known as Bubba, or simply "Duff" to those closest to him—passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was 65 years old.

Born on May 8, 1960, in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, to the late Thomas and Lois Duffy. Brian lived a life defined by deep connections, unwavering loyalty, and a heart that gave endlessly to others. Whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime, he made you feel like family.

Brian's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Crista Plazio and husband, Brandon, and Erin Duffy and her significant other, Bruce Grubb; and his significant other and forever cherished friend, Linda Duffy. He also leaves behind his devoted siblings—Eileen Haggerty, Tim Duffy, and Kevin Duffy—along with many extended family members, colleagues, and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.

A proud and accomplished healthcare professional, Brian dedicated more than three decades to helping others. He worked in the cardiac cath lab for 26 years before transitioning to interventional radiology at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he served for another 10 years. His calm demeanor, steady hands, and compassionate spirit left a lasting impact not only on his patients but on everyone lucky enough to work beside him.

After moving to Virginia, Brian embarked on a deeply personal journey—one of strength, healing, and hope. He celebrated 10 proud years of sobriety, a milestone that spoke to his resilience and quiet determination to grow and live fully. He was a source of encouragement and understanding for others walking similar paths.

Brian loved being outdoors and was especially passionate about skiing. He also found endless joy in spending time at the beach, taking trips in his RV, and simply sitting on his front porch, ready to strike up a conversation with anyone passing by.

He was, in every sense, the most lovable guy you could ever meet. Brian would do anything for anyone, no questions asked. He was a loyal friend, a devoted father, and a true example of kindness. His memory will live on in the laughter he sparked, the stories he told, the courage he showed, and the love he gave so freely.

A mass to celebrate Brian's life will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the Basilica of Saint Andrew.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
