Brenda Lou St.Clair Allanson, 62, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2012. She was a very positive, strong, and joyful woman who was always happy and full of life. Her greatest loves were shopping, singing karaoke, her pets, and especially her grandkids. Brenda enjoyed taking care of people with her giving spirit. Her church membership was held at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, Spencer Rodney St.Clair, Sr. and Audrey Blanche Kirk Crotts; and brothers, Spencer Rodney St.Clair, Jr. and Donald Leslie St.Clair. Her surviving family includes her son, Kenneth Ray Sledd, Jr. and wife, Cyndi; grandchildren, Kayla Sledd, Kelsey Sledd, and Klaudia Sledd; brother, John Stuart St.Clair; sisters, Nancy Ann Glotfelty, Patsy Brickey, Judy Carter, Christine Brogan, and Sandra Graves; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Malcolm and Edna Phipps and Earl Allanson; and pets, Doodle, Peanut, and Miss Kitty. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Pastor Harry Leland will officiate.
