Brandon Andr Saliba, 18, of Salem, Va., passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 in his sleep. Born on August 27, 1993 in Roanoke Va., he was the son of the late Andr Gabriel Saliba. Being a victim of cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy, and severe to profound mental retardation, Brandon suffered with many afflictions throughout his lifetime. His sickness, however, never stopped him from being the happy and amazing boy that he was. Brandon brought laughter and compassion to the hearts of every person to enter his life. He was truly an angel on earth and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Though his body is gone, his soul is now free in Heaven to accomplish all of the tasks that he struggled with here on earth. We know that he will be running and jumping through the clouds and will be reunited with his late father where he will finally be able to say, I love you, too, Daddy. In addition to his father, Brandon was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Delmas Trail. His surviving family includes his mother, Donna Saliba; sisters, Jessica Saliba Boyer and husband, John, Jennifer Saliba, and Brittany Saliba; grandmothers, Burnis Trail and Saydi Saliba; aunts and uncle, Regina Trail and Madeline and Paul Sandum; and many other aunts, uncles, and family members. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A service celebrating Brandons life will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2 p.m., also in the chapel. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Cemetery in Roanoke. Rev. Howard Torrence and Rev. James Torrence will officiate. An online guestbook is available at www.johnmoakey.com. The Saliba family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, 540-389-5441.
