Bonnie Hodges Chattin, 77, of Salem, VA passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
She was born to the late Leonard Francis Hodges and Marie McKinney Hodges on Friday, November 1, 1946, in Roanoke, Virginia.
Bonnie graduated from William Fleming High School in 1964. After completing her education, she opened a beauty salon in Roanoke, VA. However, despite her success as a salon owner, Bonnie felt a calling to pursue a career in nursing. She returned to school and obtained her BSN, dedicating many years to caring for others.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Sara Chattin Lewis and her husband Preston ONeil Lewis; grandchildren, Sierra A. Sallah, Samone M. Lewis, and Peyton O. Lewis; a great-granddaughter and light of her life, Anabelle Sallah.
Bonnie was known for her love of telling good jokes with her dry sense of humor and pulling epic pranks. She enjoyed working on crosswords and sudoku puzzles and had a reputation as a wordsmith.
The family wishes to respect Bonnies wishes and hold all services privately.
