Blaine Allen Walters, 42, of Salem, was welcomed in to Heaven on Monday, January 24, 2011. He was born in Roanoke, VA on May 4, 1968 and had been an area resident all of his life. Blaine attended Northside High School and was the owner and operator of Mow & More. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Silas and Erline Shelburne, and Samuel Buster and Lucille Dowdy. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Shelburne Walters of Salem; his father Fred Walters and his wife Carolyn of Christiansburg; sister Kathy Watts, her husband Ben and son, Miles of Tunnel Hill, GA; and sister Andrea Walters and Tim Perdue of Roanoke. Extended family includes Jennifer Schutte, Kevin and Sheila Crowe, and nephew Jarrett Schutte, all of Riner, his loving cat companion, Rocky, and special friends, Stacy Lilly and Jeff Powers. Blaine was an avid UVA fan and loved golf, but was never happier than when he was fishing on the James or Maurey Rivers. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. The Rev. Tom Clark will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
