Billy Ray Marshall

Billy Ray Marshall, 81, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was employed with the Virginia Department of Transportation for 30 years. He was an avid woodworker and loved the outdoors. Preceding him in death were his parents, Cullen and Martha Marshall; and sister, Maxine Wolfe. His surviving family includes his wife of 60 years, Linda Marshall; son, Todd Marshall and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Victoria Samarasinghe and husband, Michael; sister-in-law, Bonnie Clark and husband, Fred; and brother-in-law, Larry Rakes and wife, Debbie. A celebration of Billys life will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. A period of visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Sherwood Memorial Park. Pastor Heath Rickmond will officiate.
