Billy Garfield Grice, 92, of Salem, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021.
Billy was known for being a man who loved wholeheartedly and a dedicated hard-working man. He was a proud United States Navy veteran, as well as an Air Force retiree. After he retired from the service, he went on to work as a wireman for General Electric from which he retired after many years of hard work and dedication. During his younger years, he met the love of his life Juanita, going on to share sixty-five loving years of marriage. A loving husband, father, and Gand, his family was his pride and joy. He leaves behind of legacy of hard work and dedication for his grandchildren to carry forward and remember him by. Billy will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Grice; son, Duane Grice, and his twin sister, Betty Grice.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Aliene Hodges; brother, Randy Grice Jr. (Trudy); grandsons, Kenneth (Stephanie) and Steven (Rebecca) Hodges; granddaughter, Sarah Myers (Jeremy); eight greatgrandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; cousin, Jo Ann Mayberry; also left to cherish his memory are numerous dear friends within the Virginia Veterans Care Center, whom Billy often referred to as his second family.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, in Dublin, VA. Pastor Steven Hodges will be officiating.
