Beverly Marshall McCain February 9, 1926 December 18, 2013 Beverly Marshall McCain passed away on December 18, 2013 with loved ones by her side. After a very full and spirited life, she is now peacefully at rest. Beverly spent much of her life moving among numerous places across the US and abroad with husband, Hugh. She spent many years in Petal, MS before eventually calling southwest Virginia her home. Her love for the Blue Ridge Mountains was rivaled only by her love of irises, music, and all things purple. Despite her declining health in recent years, she always managed to maintain her inimitable blend of orneriness and sweet southern charm. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh McCain, Jr., and her parents Mack and Mamie Marshall. She will be sadly missed by her loving family including daughters, Janet Murphy of Raleigh, NC, Nancy McCain of Richmond, VA, Marcia Davenport of Slidell, LA, Lori Kroll of Elliston, VA; brother, Thomas Marshall of Midland, MI; grandchildren, Amanda Darling, Adam Smith, Carrie Holeman, Raini Ott, Christen Lane Hudson, David Whitney Ott, Amanda Kroll, Jessica Kroll; and great granddaughter, Madilyn Holeman. In accordance with Beverlys wishes, a celebration of life and picnic on the Blue Ridge Parkway will be arranged for family and friends in the spring.
