Beverly Gordon Davis

Beverly Gordon Davis, 73, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 4, 2023. Bev was born September 21, 1949 in Roanoke, Va. to the late Grant Calvin Davis and Katherine Altice Davis. He is also preceded in death by his wife and one and only love, Debby Roberts Davis, to whom he was faithfully married for 47 years; his son, Aaron Davis; brothers, GC, Kenny, Wesley, and Barry Davis. He leaves behind his daughter, Katie Crotts (Justin, Gabi & Julian); treasured granddaughter, Delaney Crotts; he was so proud to be her Peepaw; as well as many loved in-laws, nieces and nephews. He lived in Salem for the entirety of his life. Bev was employed for over 40 years as a lineman and crew supervisor for the City of Salem Electric Department. He was known as a hard worker and someone who wasnt afraid to speak up for what was right pertaining to the job. He loved sharing stories of the lights he and his team installed around Salem during his tenure there. In his years after retirement, he enjoyed visiting with his fellow retirees and former coworkers at events organized by the City. Bev was an avid outdoorsman. He loved the tranquility of being outside, beholding the craftsmanship of nature. He grew up fishing by local rivers and creeks and continued this passion all through his adult life at Smith Mountain Lake. He had many wonderful years of time spent there with his family and many special friends. He knew the lake like the back of his hand, and knew exactly where to find the striped bass. Bev also enjoyed observing and hunting deer. He planted specific flora known to attract deer in his yard. He relished days spent with his hunting companions. In all his time, he only claimed three bucks; that was enough for him; it was more about the beauty of watching the animals.
