Betty Moses Williams, 93, of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, dedication, and love for her family.
Betty worked for Graham White for 30 years in assembly, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment. After retirement, she found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Abby.
Betty had a passion for cooking and cleaning and took great pride in caring for her home and those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Vickie McDonald, Ralph Williams Jr., and Dana Holdren (Ricky); her grandchildren, Jessica Neighoff (Charles), JC McDonald, and Katie Duncan (Spencer); her great-grandchildren, Madison Duncan, Raegan Duncan, Marleigh McDonald, Kennedy Duncan, and Kaiven McDonald; her nephew Neil Moses (Susanne) and her brother, EC Moses (Sandy).
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Williams, and her parents, Eckie and Una Moses.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Megan and Mary of Carilion Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Betty and her family. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Peggy, her caregiver, whose dedication, friendship, and loving care brought comfort and companionship to Betty throughout her journey.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous heart, and the many memories she created with those she held dear. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion that will continue to live on through her family for generations to come.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. The burial will immediatly follow the service at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
