Betty Lou Anderson (Trail) Farris, 68, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2014 as she was surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born on September 9, 1946 in Roanoke County to the late Floyd and Letha Anderson. Mom was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan, and she certainly loved to crochet. Above all, spending time with her family and dear friends was definitely of most importance to her! In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Trail; grandson, Michael Trail; and numerous brothers and sisters. Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her daughter, Rita Richardson; sons, George (Abbie) Trail and Andy (Wendy) Trail; grandchildren, Samantha and Jessica Richardson, Tony and Casey Trail, Chelsea and Mackenzie Graham, and Dylan and Renae Trail; brothers and sisters, Snowball Miceli, Tommy (Laurie) Anderson, Walt (Sandy) Anderson, and Marsha (Donald) Francisco; special niece, Missy Bayne; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Teresa Kincer, Steve Trail and Jerry Bush. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services to honor Moms life will be conducted on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Eddie Crabtree officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Salem. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center, 312 Whitwell Dr, Roanoke, Va. 24019.
