Betty Spraker Dyson

Betty Spraker Dyson, 91, of Salem, Va., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 and joined her loved ones in Heaven. She was the first bridal consultant at the JCPenny store at Tanglewood, and later worked for Moores Building Supplies where she retired. She had a deep love for cats, and nothing made her happier than seeing them rescued. Preceding her in death was her husband, Al Dyson. Her surviving family includes her siblings, Dot Neighbors, Joan Clark, and Judy Holstein; children, Vicki Dyson and Rick Jackson, Tracy Thompson and husband, Mark, and Allen Dyson and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Callie and Wes Wolfe and Kelly and K.J. Paitsel; great-grandson, Kyle Paitsel; special friends, Brenda and Doris; and her cats, Casey, Denver, and Lucky. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at Raleigh Court for their loving care. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Va., with Rev. Mike Palmer officiating.
