Betty M. Bush

Betty M. Bush, 82, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was born in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late John Henry Moore and Dorothy Smith Moore and had been an area resident for most of her life. Together with her husband, she was a semi truck owner, operating through Malone Freight Lines and traveling the 48 as a team with a perfect driving record. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Cheyenne Gordon, and a son, Willie Bush. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, G.W. Bill Bush, Sr.; a daughter, Peggy Garland; her sister, Ethelyn Wheeler and her husband Jim; daughter in law, Patsy Bush; four grandchildren, Jerry Rush, Jr., Lucinda Rush and her husband Dylan Whittkower, Katie Bush, and Thomas Casale and his wife Lynn; five great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Dave Wheeler. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. The Rev. Irving Glover will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM this evening (Tuesday) at the funeral home.
