Berniece Meador

Berniece M. Meador, 79, of Roanoke, VA passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born October 22, 1934 in Montcole, WV, daughter of the late Kenneth Fields and Quinnie Workman. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Alfred Lewis Meador, Sr. Mrs. Meador was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her son, Alfred Lewis Meador, Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda K. and Duane Wheeling and Debbie and Bryan Chandler; grandchildren, Eric Wilson, Brennan Chandler, Chelsea Chandler, Joshua Meador, Kelseigh Meador and Zachary Meador; great-grandchildren, Devin Wilson, Dakota Wilson, Kaitlin Wilson, Brianna Chandler, Piper Wilson, and newest great-granddaughter, Natalynn Renae Meador (Nanas Peaches); sisters-in-laws, Nancy Alderman and Minnie Pearl Alderman; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Roy Kanode officiating. Arrangements by John M.
