Becky Sue Cundiff, 58, of Salem, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016. To paraphrase a quote from President Ronald Reagan following the Challenger disaster 30 years ago:
Today, Becky slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God.
Becky was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Helen Creasy, and by her granddaughters, Emery Charlotte and Lily Marie Doss.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bill (Billy); daughter, Victoria (Tori) and husband, Marshall Doss of Abingdon; sons, Benjamin (Ben) of Roanoke and Andrew and wife, Lauren of Roanoke. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Emilia Faith Doss and grandson, Hudson James Cundiff who is due to arrive in April. Becky is survived by her sisters, Melodee and husband, Charles of Ada, OK and Dougie and husband, Roger of Joplin, MO; brother, Bubba and wife, Candy of Floyd; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also her special Aunt Frances Manuel, and special friend, Debbie Szuch.
Beckys life was her children, but also every child she would meet would put a smile on her face. She was not ready to leave until she had given away her last smile. Neither did she take for granted anything done for her for which she always said, Thank you. Becky was famous for her baking, and her love and talent for making pound cake by the Victorian recipe of her mother. When asked for her final words for those she was leaving behind, she said, Goodbye everyone and tell them I will see you in heaven.
The family would like to thank Friendship Home Care especially Stephanie Crowder. We are also thankful for the excellent care of Medi-Home Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the M.S. Society of Virginia, 4200 Innslake Dr. Suite 301 Glen Allen, VA 23060 in her honor.
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is torn down, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven. 2 Corinthians 5:1
