Reba Beatrice Sisson Tyler (Bea) passed away June 19, 2021, at the age of 103, in Durham, N.C. She lived a long and good life. She was the beloved wife of Nashwell R. Tyler, deceased, and the loving mother of Stephen D. Tyler (Patty), Glen A. Tyler (Myree), Margaret Tyler Bloomquist (Ray), and Ann Tyler Hays (Sid). Bea was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was the last of her family generation and became a cherished matriarch to all her nieces and nephews. Bea was born in 1917, in Red Ash, Virginia, a coal mining town where her father managed the company store. After two years they moved to West Virginia and she spent her formative years in Bluefield. As fate would have it, she met a Virginia man, Nash Tyler, fell in love and eloped. And they lived happily ever after, first in New Jersey and then moved to Salem, Virginia. Bea was a member of River Road Baptist Church in Richmond, VA, and a former member of Salem Baptist Church in Salem, VA. She is now resting in the arms of her Blessed Lord and Savior. There will be a graveside service at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, on June 24 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, we recommend a donation to the hospice service TransitionsLifecare.org Service Details.
