Barry Elwood Beamer

Barry E. Beamer, 75, of Salem, Va., passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Beamer; parents, George E. and Hilda M. Poff Beamer; three brothers, Allan L. Beamer, R. Michael Beamer, and Steven Beamer; and step-son, Reggie Bowles. His surviving family includes his son, Matthew E. Beamer (Heather T. Beamer); grandchild, Abby L. Beamer; step-children, Buster Bowles (Larry Smith), Ann Wiseman (Phillip), and Betty Gail Trent (C.L.); step-grandchildren, Eric Wiseman (Kelly), Mary Rowland (Chris), Amber Mitchell (Chris), Kristy Wiseman (Chris), and Mandie Williford (Braxton); and step-great-grandchildren, Maegan, Hannah, Nathan, Aaden, Easton, and Gabe. Barry was retired from Norfolk Southern Corp. and the Department of Corrections. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a life member of the VFW Post #1264 and a life member of the DAV Chapter #3. The family will have fellowship on Saturday, February 13, 2021, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the John M.
