Barbara Ann Loyd

Barbara Ann Loyd, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 7, 2015. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Blessard Janney; son, Little Mark with whom she was anxious to be united; sister, Norma Allie; brother, Tommy Blessard; and son-in-law, Gary Akers. The loving family she is survived by includes her husband, Marty Loyd; daughters, Paula Murray and Diana Murray Dyer; granddaughters, Elizabeth Noonie Girl Keith and Hannah Dyer; great-grandson, Bradley Thompson; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal cat, Chessie. During her earlier years, Barbara was devoted to helping others. She served leadership roles in the Easter Seal Society for many years and other places as well. She was a private duty nurse who served many patients. She was known as Dottie in her antique endeavors Dotties Oldies. A special thanks is extended to Lewis-Gale Medical Centers 3 West staff and Ginger from food services for their compassion. A celebration of Barbaras life will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Faith Wesleyan Church in Salem with Rev. Roy Rogers officiating.
