Arthur Henry Grammer, 78, of Salem, Virginia, died Thursday, January 12, 2012. He was born in Petersburg, Virginia, and attended Fork Union Military Academy before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served during the Korean War. He was a long time resident of Oneonta, New York, and graduated from State University of New York at Oneonta with a degree in history. He taught high school for five years and had a 35 year career as a sales representative for manufacturing companies. He is survived by his wife, Marion Stern Grammer; daughter, Sharon Gustin (Jeffrey); sons, Jonathan Grammer (Lauri) and Thomas Grammer; grandsons, Joseph Grammer and Chris Gustin; granddaughter, Sarah Abbott (Sean); great-grandsons, Darren and Gavin Abbott; sister-in-law, Lynn Moya (Luis). Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Food Pantry, 620 Chapman Street, Salem, VA 24153. A private service will be held for family members.
