Annette Ballentine Lynch, 86, passed away on January 2, 2013. She was born on August 28, 1926 in Salem, VA, daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Ballentine. Annette was a loving wife and a wonderful mother. She was a life long member of First United Methodist church, and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a dedicated Red Cross Blood Services volunteer. Annette is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Harry Lynch; sons, Jim Lynch and wife Katy, Chuck Lynch, Andy Lynch and wife Laurie, and John Lynch and wife Laurie; daughters, Mary Ann Warren, Kitty Sachs, Susie Wire and husband Benson, Betsy Minor and husband John, and Nancy Hadden and husband Derek; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and her dearest friend and sister-in-law, June Clark. A memorial service honoring Annettes life will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Salem. Rev. Bobby Pickle and Chaplain Tom Clay will officiate. A period of fellowship will be held at First United Methodist Church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Red Cross Blood Services.
