Andrew William Smith, 83, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015. His surviving family includes his wife of 51 years, Virginia S. Smith; daughter, Donna Leigh Duncan; stepdaughter, Fay Harlow and husband, Jay; grandchildren, Joshua Dean Compton and girlfriend, Brittney, and Zach Harlow and girlfriend, Sarah Lee; great-grandchildren, Riley Compton and Hunter Harlow; and brother, Crowell T. Smith, Jr. and wife, Clara. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Salem with the Rev. Hilton Jeffreys officiating.
