Allan Wayne Wimmer

Allan Wayne Wimmer, 85 of Salem, VA, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Quick with a joke, ready with a tale, dead eye with a hunting rifle, fleet of foot and pedal, on pitch with voice, always willing to lend a hand, Allan Wimmer was a loving husband, brother, uncle, son, brother-in-law, son-in-law, friend, and welcoming host (perhaps not always…). Allan lived most of his life within a mile of the home where he was born. He was sharpened up as one of twelve hardheaded Wimmers and smoothed out by his wife, Mikey.

After a distinguished career at Rowe Furniture, Allan set off to ride across the United States in America by Bicycle, after which he settled into a routine of caring for family, friends, and vegetables. Mornings were spent walking in Green Hill Park with his four-footed children.

He is missed by Mikey, his sisters, and the rest of his loving family and friends.

Friends are invited to join the family at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located at 314 Turner Road, Salem, on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service to follow immediately thereafter.

A luncheon will be provided following the conclusion of the service.
