Alice Johnston Callison, born June 19, 1929, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015. She was the daughter of Clarke Daniel Johnston and Ruby Sisson Johnston. She was predeceased by her parents and son, Richard Clarke Callison. She was an avid golfer for over 60 years, finally getting a Hole In One at age 84. She also loved to play bridge. Alice retired from the retail advertising department of the Roanoke Times and World News after 31 years of service. Alice is survived by daughters Judith Anne Callison and Jane Lynne Callison Sexton; four grandchildren, Corie W. Robbins, Clarke Walker, Gina Gray, and Ross Sexton; eight great-grandchildren, John W. Robbins, Connor Robbins, Logan Walker, Callie Walker, Finley Walker, Jackson Gray, Mason Gray, Emmerson Gray, and Alexa Barker. She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Thomson and Alleene Dalzell (Tom); and many nieces and nephews. Alice dearly loved her Sorority Sisters, golfing buddies, and church friends. A graveside service in celebration of Alices life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke, officiated by Dr. Douglas Newman and Reverend Arthur Grant.
