Alfred A. Hawley

Alfred A. Hawley, 92, of Salem, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013. He was born in Rutland, VT, the son of Arthur and Lucretia (Von Fintell) Hawley. He is survived by his wife, Jean Vining Hawley, and her children, Alice Root of Buffalo, NY, Judy Hastings and her husband, Michael, of Albany, NY, Pat Garrison and her husband, Jim, of Elliston, VA, and Bob Vining of Roanoke, VA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Dorothy Hawley Billings and Maurice Hawley and his wife, Esther, all of Rutland, VT; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hawley served in the U.S. Navy and retired from 3M after 33 years of service. He had been a ballroom dancer and loved travelling worldwide through the Friendship Force. Al and Jean enjoyed ten winters in their home in Holiday, Florida. He was predeceased by his sister, Verna Sprague; and brothers, Ira Hawley and Arlyn Hawley.
