Alberta Carol Berge

Alberta Carol Berge, 92 of Salem, VA and formerly of Williamsburg, VA passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011. She was born March 8, 1919 in Bronx, NY daughter of the late George and Catherine Albert Schoeck. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wellington John Berge; brother, George Schoeck, Jr. and a sister, Eleanor Schramm. Mrs. Berge was a homemaker, a member of Wellspring United Methodist Church in Williamsburg, and a member of Williamsburg Garden Club. She was a member of the Kristiansand Home Owners Association and served on the welcoming committee. In her younger years she was very involved in her childrens lives serving in many capacities in scouting and other activities. She is survived by three daughters, Susan Haas, Kathleen Entemann and husband George and Nancy Promislow and husband Wayne; son, Alan Berge and wife Marie and seven grandchildren. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Rev. Bobby Pickle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour following the service at the funeral home.
